During the October holidays Cumnock Juniors Community Enterprise ran a successful Street Football Camp at Cumnock Academy. The camp saw coaches deliver sessions to over 45 local children aged from 3-15 years old on each of the 5 days. In the morning players learned new football skills based on skills and tricks displayed by famous footballers in a fun but effective way. The afternoon session saw them take part in the Street challenges, a unique group of skills tests which included the Ronaldo shot, Messi dribbling, Aguero chip and the Neymar volley challenge. At the end of the week all players received a certificate for completing the camp.
The camp was delivered by a team of SFA qualified coaches consisting of Enterprise, Ayr United and Kilmarnock FC coaches.
Head of Sport Development Ross Armour commented:- It was fantastic to see so many players of varied ability come from all over the local area. Most pleasing of all was the visible improvement you could see in the players by the end of the week. The camps offer players the chance to get great coaching and improve their technical ability whilst having loads of fun. We wish to congratulate the coaches on a great job. As an SFA Legacy Club, we are committed to providing the best coaching to the kids that we can. These camps are an important element of our pathway development programme and similar camps will be run during the Easter and Summer school holidays at the new Community Sports Hub at Townhead Park.”
Look out for our Easter Camp on Monday 4th April – Friday 8th April 2016.
