Cumnock Juniors Community Enterprise held their Children & Youth Easter Football camp last week.
Despite the poor weather for most of the week, 25 “Nock Tots” and 50 youths attended each day of the 5-day event which was held at Cumnock Academy Astro.
Enterprise Head of Sports Development, Ross Armour, planned a range of development activities and fun skill development practices. He was supported by Activity Co-ordinator, Liam Dunnachie and guest coaches from Kilmarnock FC and Ayr United Football Academy.
On the final day, Cumnock Juniors FC Manager, John McKeown, and player Kerr Samson presented medals to all of the kids and certificates to three who were voted “Most Improved Player” by the coaches. Much to the kids delight, John and Kerr joined in the fun….although their football skills were a bit overshadowed by the kids!
The feedback from the surveys conducted with parents and guardians was very positive. In particular, everyone scored “Conduct and Attitude of the Coaches & Staff”, “Skills of the Coaches” and “Kids Reaction” either as “Very Good” or “Excellent`”. Other suggestions for improvement will be acted on.
It is planned to have a Summer Camp at the soon to be completed Townhead Community Sports Hub.
We would like to thank the coaches from KFC and Ayr United and also Angie Bennett and Adam Strain from EAC Vibrant Communities for their support.
